New Hope for Patients with a Specific Type of Advanced Bowel Cancer: European Medicines Agency Recommends Approval of a Targeted Treatment Combination

Pierre Fabre Laboratories has received a positive recommendation from the European Medicines Agency’s (EMA) Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) for the approval of a new treatment combination for adults with advanced bowel cancer caused by a specific genetic mutation called BRAF V600E. The combination includes the medicines BRAFTOVI (encorafenib), cetuximab, and a standard chemotherapy regimen called FOLFOX. This combination is intended for patients who have not received any previous treatment for their advanced cancer.
