A well-known testing company called SGS has recently expanded its laboratory in Saint-Benoît, France, near Poitiers. This expansion adds 500 square meters to the facility, bringing its total size to nearly 4,500 square meters. The goal of this upgrade is to improve the laboratory’s ability to handle larger and more complicated studies in drug development. The Saint-Benoît laboratory has been supporting medical research for over 35 years, offering specialized testing services. These services include measuring the levels of small molecules, proteins, antibodies, and even RNA-based therapies in the body. It also performs studies to understand how drugs are absorbed and how the body responds to them. Additionally, the lab tests for immune reactions, checks biomarkers, and conducts other specialized tests to ensure drugs are safe and effective. The expanded facility follows strict international guidelines to guarantee high-quality results that meet regulatory standards. By adding more space and modern technology, the lab can now handle bigger and more complex projects without sacrificing quality or speed. SGS is also investing in automation and digital tools to make work more efficient. The laboratory collaborates with the University of Poitiers to advance research. Walid Elbast, the Director of the Saint-Benoît laboratory, said that this expansion is an important step in supporting more advanced medical research. This project is part of SGS’s larger effort to grow its capabilities in testing and analyzing pharmaceuticals and biological products worldwide, including the recent acquisition of a U.S. testing company in June.
