Turbine and AstraZeneca Team Up to Improve Cancer Treatments

Turbine and AstraZeneca have joined forces to make better cancer treatments using special medicines called antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). Turbine has special computer models that can help predict how these treatments will work. This partnership aims to make the discovery process faster and more effective. Earlier, Turbine and AstraZeneca worked together to understand why some cancer treatments stop working. They used Turbine’s computer models to study blood cancers and find out how different treatments could work better together. Daniel Veres, the chief scientific officer at Turbine, said, “By using a smart approach that combines computer models and lab tests, we can find the best treatment combinations more quickly. This helps us focus on treatments that are most likely to help patients.” The companies plan to use a method called ‘lab-in-the-loop.’ This means Turbine’s computer models will suggest which lab tests to do, and then use AstraZeneca’s data to predict how well the treatments will work. This approach will help them understand why some cancer cells respond to treatment while others do not. In the future, they hope to use this method with real patient data to improve cancer care. This partnership is part of a bigger effort to make cancer treatments more effective and personalized.
