Oxford BioTherapeutics (OBT) has started a long-term partnership with Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) to create and develop new cancer<\/a> therapies called T-cell engagers. These therapies work by helping the body’s immune cells, called T-cells, better recognize and attack solid tumors, which are common types of cancer like breast, lung, or colon cancer. This is the third major partnership OBT has formed with a big pharmaceutical company in just the past year.<\/p>\n

Under this agreement, OBT will use its special technology platform called OGAP-Verify to find new targets on tumors that are unique to cancer cells. Using this information, they will design and develop new T-cell engager molecules, which are like guided missiles that direct the immune system to destroy only the cancer cells and not healthy cells. OBT will also prepare these new treatments for early testing before passing them to BMS for further research, development, and eventual sale to patients.<\/p>\n

As part of this deal, OBT will receive an initial payment that includes money for research, along with the possibility of additional payments if the treatments are successful and earn royalties if the products are sold. The exact financial details of the agreement were not shared.<\/p>\n

This collaboration follows similar partnerships OBT signed with GSK and Roche earlier this year, showing that more companies are trusting OBT\u2019s technology to help fight cancer.<\/p>\n

Christian Rohlff, the CEO of OBT, shared his thoughts on the partnership, saying, ‘Working with Bristol Myers Squibb, a leader in cancer treatment worldwide, is a big achievement for OBT. It shows that more companies believe in our technology and our ability to turn science into effective treatments.’<\/p>\n

He added, ‘This new partnership builds on the success of our technology, which helps us find unique targets on tumors and create treatments that can make a real difference for patients. By combining OBT\u2019s discovery skills with BMS\u2019s expertise in turning scientific innovations into real-world treatments, we are confident that together we can develop a new generation of cancer therapies that will help many patients.’<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
